About Emma Harris

Emma Harris I graduated in 2004 from the University of East Anglia. I gained basic Physiotherapy core knowledge in the NHS before joining the private sector in 2008, where I developed my skills in the musculoskeletal field of Physiotherapy. I have a particular interest in sporting injuries and long term rehabilitation following injuries. I also enjoy working with paediatrics, following sporting injuries and have experience of treating children. I have attended many APCP approved courses. I have an interest and experience in aquatic therapy, for all musculoskeletal conditions. Having a competitive swimming background allows me to use my own knowledge of the benefits of water alongside my Physiotherapy training to facilitate rehabilitation of patients.

Since having my two children, I developed a special interest in pregnancy and postpartum conditions. I have attended many courses to broaden my knowledge in this feild of Physiotherapy and I continue to develop it by keeping up to date with current literature. I have written articles for the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) and have successfully helped to relieve many women's pain in and after pregnancy, helping them to return to normal daily activities and their chosen sport.

Since qualifying I have also worked with an amateur rugby team which has allowed me to develop skills specific to the sporting arena from acute injury to returning back to full fitness. It has also given me an insight into the psychology of sports, which can be a particularly important element to take into account when rehabilitating each individual.

The aims of physiotherapists are to restore function, normal movement, alleviate pain and improve strength and physical well-being. I tailor individual treatment programmes from a thorough initial assessment to achieve this outcome, whilst also providing an efficient, reliable, honest and competitively priced service, practicing within the CSP Professional Codes of Practice.
